So Fetch (Mean Girls 10th Anniversary!)

4/30/2014

Mean Girls (starring Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Lacey Chabert, Amanda Seyfried and Tina Fey) is one of my favorite movies of all time! It’s one of this generation’s most quotable (and quoted) movies ever. If you haven’t heard the phrase “If you’re from Africa, why are you white?”, then you must be living under a rock! One of the reasons why I love that movie though, aside from it being quotable, relatable and a load of laughs, is that it bonds people. My roomie Heidi and I used to go back and forth, throwing lines at each other, reciting the script from memory as we tried to stay awake while studying. That’s probably one of my favorite moments of ours, ever.

SPLICED: FIDA Gradshow Presscon

4/25/2014

Last Wednesday, I was invited to the Fashion Institute of Design and Arts (FIDA) presscon for their second graduation show entitled SPLICED: Where Fashion and Film Collide. It will be held at 5pm tomorrow, April 26, 2014 at the SM Lanang Premier Atrium and everyone's invited to attend! The show will feature the works of the 13 graduates of FIDA Davao. The graduates of the 1-year (intensive) Fashion Design course will feature a 7-piece collection. Meanwhile, the graduates of the 2-year Fashion Design course will feature a 12-piece collection. The lone Fashion Branding and Merchandising student, Daphne Balagtas, will be styling a set featuring clothes from Forever 21.

StyLIZed Davao Book Tour

4/22/2014

A few days before school officially ended, I attended the Davao leg of the StyLIZed Book Tour at SM Lanang Premier. I'm not a super big fan of artistas (like there are a few I would sell my kidneys to have a photo taken with) but instead I turn into a fan girl for stylists, fashion industry people, athletes and models. Is that weird of me? Anyway, I went to this event not as a blogger but as a legit fan, out of my own volition. Who best to attend this event with than my style sisters, Lorraine and Mithi? :)

Someone Loves You When..

4/17/2014

How do you know that someone loves you?
For a hopeless romantic like me, I used to think that the grand gestures would determine how much someone loves you. I mean, why would someone go through all the trouble if they didn't? And I mean, c'mon you're talking to a hopeless romantic--how can a grand gesture NOT be romantic? But as I've matured, I've come to realize that it's the littlest things that matter most. Just know that the important people in your life love you, but often times, not in the way you want them to. You just have to recognize their love language.

Forever Summer

4/07/2014

Hello to my first ever post with the short hair! I still have another one from my sisters' graduations but I bumped it off for this post because I loved how the photos turned out. There's nothing much to share, since I haven't done much summer-y things like go to the beach, party (or go to a beach party HAHA) or see my friends, but that doesn't mean I can't dress the part! ;) I was bored yesterday so I dragged my sister off her bed to take my photos. For someone reluctant (and for a photography noob), I thought she did a pretty good job of making me look skinny! Haha

Dressv Colored Wedding Dresses 2014

4/04/2014

A purist at heart, I've always believed that brides should walk the aisle in a white dress. However, you can't deny that times are changing and brides are more liberal nowadays. A lot of them go for colored wedding dresses. Jessica Biel went for a pink wedding dress and Avril Lavigne stayed true to her skater girl image and went for a black wedding dress to her second gothic-themed wedding. Sarah Jessica Parker also went against the norm and showed us why she's a fashion icon by going for a black wedding dress. You don't have to go that drastic by pulling off boldly colored wedding dresses though; pink or blush is usually a popular choice for most brides. Among other popular colors are ivory, daffodil, champagne or silver.
