Hello after a week!

I know, I know. I really should get on with blogging more but life's been dull and school just started. Anyway, here I am with a peace offering. I missed doing gushy/critique fashion posts. Lately it's been more of personal style and experience posts. Let's get started, shall we?

Every year, the world eagerly awaits for November, when the annual Victoria's Secret Fashion Show happens. It's the time when all the guys are drooling and all the girls are starving or doing extra sit-ups at the gym. :)) Me, I watch the show for the styling. I love the creative team for putting a lot of thought into the props, costumes and concepts. Money is no object--I heard production cost $12M!

I can't wait for December when I will have the chance to download the show and watch it. For now, some photos from Divine Lee's blog.

Trendspotting: Sportswear

The June 2012 Preview saw the "Call Me Maybe" girls--Anne, Solenn, Liz, Belle and Georgina--all decked out in 2012 Balenciaga sportswear-inspired pieces. This trend is making waves now, probably because of the upcoming Olympics (opening a day after my birthday)! Vogue US also featured an amazing cover and editorial featuring their athletes and my favorite model Karlie Kloss.

New York Fashion Week S/S 2012: Marchesa

9/20/2011

Marchesa has always been a favorite of mine, because they bring out the inner princess in me. This collection designed by Keren Craig and Georgina Chapman was no different. Inspired by the sea, the collection was neutral-heavy, but full of texture given the different fabrics used. Think tulle, draped organza, mesh and the like--really designed to bring an element of whimsy, fancy and magic. I just fell in love!

Model I Love: Karlie Kloss

I was looking through Teen Vogue today. I don't know what happened but I guess I stayed too long on their site and kept clicking on links within the site that I stumbled upon Teen Vogue's interview with Karlie Kloss for her cover which was way back in April 2010. After reading it, I became more of a Karlie Kloss fan than I was before. It's so nice to hear that she is still grounded and not some stuck-up diva. Afterall, she does make a lot of money

It's hard to believe she's only 19 yet she has reached a SUPERMODEL status (Well, there's that 10-year old supermodel already but still). Designers are generous with their praise, saying they haven't seen such grace and poise since the supermodel era. Personally, I like her because not only is she pretty, she has an open (or what we call maamo) face that makes her look approachable. Not only that, she can morph into so many characters and transform into different looks.

Here are some of my favorite Karlie Kloss runway looks and spreads:
