A Different Perspective
12/28/2014

Confession: on the days leading up to Christmas, I couldn't feel the holiday spirit at at all. I even had an elaborate entry prepared but didn't post because I didn't want to ruin Christmas for you. I didn't know why I was feeling that way--was it because I've grown older? or because I was too focused on the now (it was exam week then)? or because I was just so used to the way my family and I celebrated Christmas that I already knew what to expect and got sick of it? Or maybe because I thought I wasn't gonna be having the Christmas I was used to with all the new clothes and gifts (parang bata lang)? Irregardless, the past few days after Christmas have opened my eyes and reminded me what Christmas (and the holiday season) is truly about. Sure, we all have been told that it's a celebration for the man who gave his life on the cross to save us from sin but I've learned that how we live the way that honors His sacrifice is also important, and that includes being grateful--being grateful for the littlest but most important things that we take for granted like our family and health.

They say your 20's are the best time to be adventurous with clothing. Your 20's are essentially, the best time to discover what your personal style is. However, I realize that being in your 20's does not exactly give you license to wear what you want. There are some outfits best reserved for teens. This outfit is something I wore for the first washday of the semester. I was supposed to wear them with boots but chose to wear sneakers because the outfit with boots made me look like a hooker, although the same outfit with boots looked great on my 16 year old sister. The key is to find the right balance of youthful yet mature (oxymoron? haha) but not frumpy.

To be honest, I find myself getting sick of clothes lately. Sometimes when I go shopping, all I see are the same types of clothes but at different stores. Sometimes, the clothes are just so blatantly in-your-face, screaming THIS (trend) IS WHAT'S HOT NOW SO BUY ME. It's not surprising that everyone's wearing almost the same things now cause that's what all the stores are selling.

It's July already but this is my first washday outfit post for the school year. I haven't had the chance to take photos cause I usually just choose to dress in some variation of gym wear (aka I wear my trainers to school) so I wouldn't have to lug around a lot of stuff. However, I decided to skip a session Wednesday last week to make time for my blog(!!!) and try out Saging Repablik with my bestie, Ayessa.
Almost all my classes this semester are in just one room (I knowww, super high school ang peg!! I love changing rooms cause I get to spot cuties when going around but oh well) and it can get really chilly there so I opted for something that involved a sweater. I actually planned on blogging this outfit a long time ago but never got the chance to so I saw that day as the perfect time to wear it out!

| Here's a photo I got online. It's not the original photo I took inspiration from but it's similar |
It's inspired by something Emma Watson wore that I saw on my StyLIZed book. I chose to wear my sleeveless denim polo from Cotton On inside and just let the collar peek instead of a full-on polo cause the weather can get unpredictable and it might get hot later on (Actually, I just didn't like the polo's collar. HAHA. dami pang sinabi noh?). Good thing the outfit went well with the whole feel of Saging Repablik!
What do you think? Is this look a yay or a nay? :)

This is gonna be the last of my outfit posts with long hair for a time as I recently had my hair chopped off. I don't know what made me do it; maybe I've been (secretly) longing for a change some time and thought summer was the best time to do it cause I wouldn't have to face people as much, or maybe because I've always wanted to have (and pull off) short hair. Either way, I know if I thoroughly thought it through, I know I wouldn't have done it. So after my last exam, I just took the plunge.
A New Twist to an Old Favorite

I'm bumping off the other outfits I shot with Pat and Rien for this one which I wore just last Wednesday. I had a really tiring (and trying) busy weekend--we had our first PIChE-JCM Students' Summit and I was one of the organizers. So before the weekend rolled around, I made sure to have some fun. I went on a post-Valentine date with my forever Valentine, Mithi to have some lunch and catch up. :)

I can't believe I let these photos rot in my inbox for a week!
Between school, fitness, extra-curriculars and managing my personal life, blogging has definitely taken a back seat. I have a really full plate right now and it sucks cause I feel like a robot or machine going on auto-pilot mode come weekdays :( And though I promised myself that I would only posy DSLR-quality photos, I find myself eating my words again. I like how the photos turned out, I think they lent a vintage feel to the outfit.

I'm really sorry it took me 8 days into the LAST month of the year for you to hear from me again. I know, I know. I keep making excuses but I've seriously been LEGIT busy lately, and not even a month has passed since the semester started. To give you an idea how my schedule this semester goes, let's just say that my TTh classes run from 7:40am-9pm, no break. I have a minimum of 2 lab classes per day (on Tuesdays, it's 3--computing lab, actual lab work and computer lab (AutoCAD); on Thursdays I have PE) which each run for 3 hrs. My MWF schedule is lighter but it's those days I do errands, study AND tutor, so I still end up going home late. I missed our house a lot, so I spent the whole of yesterday home alone, resting and studying. I really wanted to watch Frozen, but certain sacrifices must be made if I do want to pass the semester with flying colors.
Two Outfits, One Day
11/30/2013
One of the reasons why I love basics so much is that I can create multiple styles from just a few pieces of clothing. With the right accessories, the possibilities are endless. This is what I kept in mind when I thought of last Wednesday's outfit. My friend told me to come up with my best look since he would be shooting Engineering students' #ootds. When he told me that last Monday, I came up with about 4 different looks but ended up settling for this one, something that wasn't among my original 4 choices. Haha! Last minute again! It's amazing cause I also ended up creating another look from the pieces I was wearing without meaning to.

Regardless of whatever situation, I think that freedom of speech is imperative. Granted we follow basic courtesy and try not to curtail someone else’s freedom to do so. That being said, I have all reason to enjoy this freedom of mine and I have a right to do so (speak out) especially if I know I am right.
On a Roll
9/23/2013
I am officially on a roll!
I've published 3 blog posts straight already! Congratulate me please. Haha. I don't remember the last time that's ever happened. As you can see, I'm sort of running on a blogging dry spell. Hopefully come semestral break, I'll be able to shoot more outfits with Mithi. =))
We Can't Stop
9/13/2013
If you've noticed, for the past few posts I've been trying out different kinds of styles that are simply "not me". I've tried out a sporty look, a slightly feminine look and now here's my slightly hipster/grunge look.
Rookie

There are about 3 "new" things I did for this post. First, I am in a statement shirt. (Can I get a whoop whoop here?) Second, I am also jumping on the skater skirt bandwagon. Whoop, whoop! Badaboom! Third, I am decked head to toe in just one brand. Just one brand. It's crazy, I swear.
The One that Got Away

So I am wearing this pair of pink pants in two consecutive posts. This reminds me of the time I wore my blue blazer thrice in a row as well. I feel slightly embarrassed about it.
But this wasn't supposed to happen.

I spend A LOT of time in the library which is why it should come as no surprise that this was one location I had in mind for an outfit shot. I'm at the lib so much that the guards, circulation staff and internet reservation staff know me already. What can I say? The library is a haven for people like me who have no permanent hang-out. Being an irregular student (I have both 3rd and 4th year subjects) in a school that has block sectioning, there are times wherein my classmates have classes when I don't so where do I go? Naturally, to the library. Alone.
Varsity Blues
7/19/2013
I'm honestly not really a fan of varsity (or baseball OR letterman) jackets because of the bad rep they have for me. I've seen them on some (no other way to put this so lemme just get it out) jeje people whomI don't want to be associated with, snobby as that sounds. It's too bad though, cause when I was younger, I've always dreamed of dating a jock and subsequently, as his girlfriend, I'd wear the famed jacket (or jersey). Well obviously, that hasn't happened (yet), but what do I know? Perhaps someday I might (even though I feel too old for that jock-brainiac thing), says the girl who's watched one too many teenage high school flicks. HAHA
