10 Things About Farrah

2/19/2015

mm

I've had these set of photos for quite a while now but could never think of what to write about. Then, I remembered getting tagged in one of those "20 things about me" posts on Facebook some months ago but could never get around to answering them. So, now that I'm relatively free (my exam weekS ended yesterday, and on a pretty good note nonetheless), I thought I would indulge myself in writing a post...about myself (Sooooo narcissistic. LOL). I only kept it at 10 cause I can't think of anything more than that.

Sembreak Chronicles: Blogger Bestie Roadtrip!

Here's one of the few posts I have left over from last year, and one of my favorite moments of 2014! You know the saying "buti pa ang lakad na di pinaplano, natutuloy"? (random outings push through more than planned ones) This was one of those instances!

Sweater Weather Giveaway (CLOSED)

10/29/2014

On our third day in Japan, one of the things on our itinerary was a university visit so I made sure to look the part. The same day was also the day we'd be moving to our respective provinces so I made sure to be in something comfy. I wore my dad's sweater. He didn't know I brought it with me, though days prior to my departure, he's been offering to let me (no, bugging me even) take it. Cute dad is cute.

Birthday Suit

8/02/2014

I can't believe it's been a week already since I celebrated my 23rd birthday!

23 sounds so old but I sure don't feel that way. This was probably one of, if not, THE quietest birthday celebration I've had. I guess I said that of my birthday a few times already but this year, it felt most true. I guess my mistake was that I was looking forward to my actual birthday too much and expected everything to go perfectly, etc. I just put unnecessary pressure on myself so I invariably ended up disappointed. My birthday felt quiet because I didn't get to celebrate it with people outside of my family. We had lunch at Tiny Kitchen, dropped by Echostore and went home. My grandma got me a laptop though, my 3rd laptop given to me on my birthday in 5 years! I got one for my 18th birthday, got the (work) laptop from Mimi and Jun on my 21st and this one from my lola for my 23rd! That's the funniest coincidence, isn't it?

Anyway, this is what I wore on short notice. These are all old pieces I put together. I was supposed to wear that Banggood necklace I wore here but I didn't want to be too overdressed. I still wanted to look polished though. This is something I think a 23-year old would wear, but the pose above isn't something I think a 23-year old would do though! Haha (but yay for being able to do pull-ups)

I'll add more photos when I get the memory card! HAHA. Currently too lazy to...do anything. :P

To be honest, I find myself getting sick of clothes lately. Sometimes when I go shopping, all I see are the same types of clothes but at different stores. Sometimes, the clothes are just so blatantly in-your-face, screaming THIS (trend) IS WHAT'S HOT NOW SO BUY ME. It's not surprising that everyone's wearing almost the same things now cause that's what all the stores are selling.

On Happiness

7/20/2014

The other day while commuting, I sat next to a man and his daughter. The man was ordinary, a construction worker perhaps, and he was carrying his daughter's bag. His daughter was probably around 6 or 7 years old and was really skinny. She kept looking at me. At one stop, there was no more room left but someone wanted to ride so the dad told his daughter to sit on his lap. The passenger that entered was a very negative entitled woman and she sat next to me. She was huffy cause she had lots of things and there wasn't any much room in the aisle for her to pass. She was obnoxiously ranting out loud (obviously wanting the father to hear it) that there wasn't room anymore and the father should've just moved to sit next to me. Do you know how it feels when you're enjoying a sunny day and someone just blocks in on your sun? That's how I felt the minute the woman entered and sat next to me.

It's July already but this is my first washday outfit post for the school year. I haven't had the chance to take photos cause I usually just choose to dress in some variation of gym wear (aka I wear my trainers to school) so I wouldn't have to lug around a lot of stuff. However, I decided to skip a session Wednesday last week to make time for my blog(!!!) and try out Saging Repablik with my bestie, Ayessa.

Almost all my classes this semester are in just one room (I knowww, super high school ang peg!! I love changing rooms cause I get to spot cuties when going around but oh well) and it can get really chilly there so I opted for something that involved a sweater. I actually planned on blogging this outfit a long time ago but never got the chance to so I saw that day as the perfect time to wear it out!

Here's a photo I got online. It's not the original photo I took inspiration from but it's similar

It's inspired by something Emma Watson wore that I saw on my StyLIZed book. I chose to wear my sleeveless denim polo from Cotton On inside and just let the collar peek instead of a full-on polo cause the weather can get unpredictable and it might get hot later on (Actually, I just didn't like the polo's collar. HAHA. dami pang sinabi noh?). Good thing the outfit went well with the whole feel of Saging Repablik!

What do you think? Is this look a yay or a nay? :)

Begin Again

6/15/2014

The second week of school is only starting tomorrow but I feel like I've been at it for a while now. I can't believe summer is over and done and I am officially in my senior year! Plus, there's nothing like a 3-hour lecture on the second day of class to make me feel it. I remember on a couple of occasions this week when I spaced out and thought, what is this?? As if to cement our true blue senior status, it seemed as if our teachers immediately just threw us into the pool--no introductions or reviews needed. But that's good though--no more coddling. I actually spent the whole day yesterday reading up just to not fall behind--we're already having a quiz on Wednesday!

Bad Hair Day

5/01/2014

I've been stuck in a blogging rut recently. I came to a point wherein I couldn't think of anything to churn out on this blog and I was thinking and re-thinking of what to write about. I looked to my past entries and it seemed as if writing and sharing even the most mundane things came so easy to me back then. I don't know when I started to post my more "profound" thoughts but since I started doing so, it was hard to stop since it seemed as if people expected those kinds of posts from you. I just want to go back to the old easygoing me who just wanted to share my day. Besides, it's sort of hard to be "profound"  right now especially when nothing significant fills your day! :P

So Fetch (Mean Girls 10th Anniversary!)

4/30/2014

Mean Girls (starring Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Lacey Chabert, Amanda Seyfried and Tina Fey) is one of my favorite movies of all time! It’s one of this generation’s most quotable (and quoted) movies ever. If you haven’t heard the phrase “If you’re from Africa, why are you white?”, then you must be living under a rock! One of the reasons why I love that movie though, aside from it being quotable, relatable and a load of laughs, is that it bonds people. My roomie Heidi and I used to go back and forth, throwing lines at each other, reciting the script from memory as we tried to stay awake while studying. That’s probably one of my favorite moments of ours, ever.

Someone Loves You When..

4/17/2014

How do you know that someone loves you?
For a hopeless romantic like me, I used to think that the grand gestures would determine how much someone loves you. I mean, why would someone go through all the trouble if they didn't? And I mean, c'mon you're talking to a hopeless romantic--how can a grand gesture NOT be romantic? But as I've matured, I've come to realize that it's the littlest things that matter most. Just know that the important people in your life love you, but often times, not in the way you want them to. You just have to recognize their love language.

#BloggerProblems

3/23/2014

Blogging is no easy task.

This is what Pat, Rien and I realized when we shot a series of outfit shots at MTS last month. It may seem glamorous--we dress up, go to events, get paid or get freebies at times--but nothing glamorous ever comes without hard work. We're like a whole magazine staff rolled into one! We're our own stylist, photographer, (photo) editor, writer, PA (since we carry our own clothes to shoots!), social media promoter, layout/art director/editor--name every position in a magazine and chances are, we've done some work of it!

Orchid You Not

3/21/2014

Since it's graduation season (meaning the new graduates will soon be joining the work force), I thought of giving outfit ideas for the young professional. This one is for the yuppie working at a creative firm, meaning no strict dress codes. You're free to express your creativity and personality through your outfit. Think advertising, publishing, styling, and possibly, PR.

Hello once more!

Can you believe it's been almost 2 weeks since my last post? If you haven't noticed, chances are you're still a student, like me. Haha! It's March madness, as I like to call it. We are down to the last couple weeks of school and there's school work we have to do left and right. Thankfully though, the stars have aligned for me tonight and I (miraculously) have nothing major to submit tomorrow. :)

The Best Day

2/28/2014

Happy last day of February!

I hadn't planned on posting an entry tonight, especially not this set of photos as I was saving these photos for a special day, a special feeling and I was also thinking of a special write-up for this particular set. However, I thought, why should we wait for "special timing"? Life's too short so let's use those 'special' notebooks, drink those "special" wines. I mean, I'm happy, I feel great, I had a great last day of February and I've got good news, insights and  stories to share so if that isn't special and good enough reason, what is?

Here's to (Self) Love

2/13/2014

Happy Valentine's Day tomorrow!
Here's to a "holiday" that's been the bane of my existence throughout my tumultuous, hormone-charged teen years. Here's to a day that's caused me tears (both of joy, but usually of envy and self-pity :( ) but gave me smiles and memories worth remembering too (especially during my days in UP :) ). Here's to a day I've finally come to terms with now that I'm older, "wiser" and definitely more accepting of myself.

Uncovered

2/07/2014

It's been a week since I last blogged and since these photos were taken for Gelianne's make-up portfolio. My bloggies (blogger besties/buddies, whatever you prefer) spent Chinese New Year shooting and they were so excited about how the photos turned out that they blogged their outfit shots immediately! I'm usually the most active among us but now I'm the last one to post one of the outfits we shot. Haha.

Leather and Studs

1/12/2014

SOOO, have you noticed the new look? :)
And by new look, I meant the new look of my blog I mean. :)

It rained the whole day yesterday here in Davao which forced everyone to stay home for most part of the day. It was good in a way though that it forced us to be productive.  For one, it got my sister to start working on my blog. The fact that the header changed is good enough for me--I just wanted it to change!!--but watch for other little changes along the way as well. :)

Happy New Year to you all!

I was recently contemplating whether or not to move to Wordpress since for the past few days, Blogger would not let me upload photos (I even already made an account on Wordpress and everything) but at the last minute, when everything was ready, I found out I had to shell out (more) money for them to map my domain. Anyway, I decided to back out. Maybe when everything is polished cause right now, I'm pretty busy as school just started today. But nevermind, firstly and importantly, I finally got my sister to come up with some new designs for my blog.

Like A Boy (Plus a Giveaway!)

12/12/2013

So funny how right now as I'm blogging this, I am wearing the exact same pair of sneakers.

This is the last of the outfits Mithi and I shot at Torres, probably more than a month ago. I remember having come from the gym then. Amazing how a lot has happened in the last month, one major thing which was unforgettable was my getting sprained (sorry. I can't help but bring up the sprain cause these were the shoes I relied on most when I was injured). I'd gone from school girl/gym freak to my most hated state (sprained/injured/) to actual human being (haha to anyone who can get the Mean Girls reference).
