You Can't Sit With Us

I wish I could somehow put it out there a bit more creatively buuuut there's really no particular story behind my outfit. I just saw the shirt in a pile of clothes my sister left when she came to visit. If you don't get the pop culture reference, it's a line from one of my favorite movies, Mean Girls. :))

Go-to

8/23/2015

Sharing one of my favorite go-to outfits when I'm too lazy to think of something (which happens often) or am stuck in a rut (which happens often). I constantly wear this (go-to outfit nga diba?) but it was only when I was out with my cousin and best friend did I finally get this outfit shot. When my cousin Erika--she's a host and local radio DJ at Oomph Radio 97.1 (tune in from 9am-12nn everyday #proudcousin)--and I met up that day, it was a marvelous coincidence to see that we were both in similar outfits that it was almost a crime not to have our photos taken together. Great minds think alike indeed! :)

Where are the #OOTDs?

8/10/2015

Ever since I last posted something well thought-of (as in serious, honest-to-goodness writing), a few of my friends have been asking why I've stopped posting outfits or #ootds. This amused me because well, I didn't know my outfits were something to look forward to! :)))))

Christmas

6/17/2015

I was worried cause I was running out of things to post when I saw this set of photos in my Drafts list. This set was taken last Christmas (almost half a year ago now), how's that for delayed posts? Every Christmas, we celebrate with my dad's side of the family. We have mass then dinner at Villa Margarita. Among all the Christmas outfits I wore, this is probably my favorite cause it's casual but still dressy enough for dinner with family. What do you think?

Fringe Benefit

5/28/2015

One of summer's biggest trends is the 70's boho or bohemian fashion, specifically fringed items. That little boho part of me rejoices since it means fringe items abound in stores right now (at least I won't have much of a hard time finding something similar to the fringe bag I was eyeing since last October but didn't get to buy since someone got to it first), but at the same time, I feel a bit sad since I don't have enough money to buy the pieces I want! Summer = less allowance! That's why I was so glad I was able to find a little boho piece for myself online via dresslink.com.

Business and Pleasure

Looking back at my old posts had me cringing a LOT. What was I thinking?! Like literally. I was bigger but still had the guts to go for neons, etc. I had a whole lot going on for me!! If not that, I dressed so shabbily but still posted it online, for the sake of posting. Oh well, all for posterity's sake. :)) It'll be a reminder that I can't be arrogant or judge-y of other people's fashion faux pas cause I also had my days.

Classes ended for me a few days ago so finally, it's hello summer vacation for me! :)

This is what I wore to the last washday of the school year. I had one (my last for the sem!) exam that day and if you don't know this already, one tidbit about me is that I like to dress up on exam days that fall on washdays. Why? Cause if I bomb the exam, at least I'd look good but if I don't, then better. Beauty and brains, dibaaaa? (bodynalangkulang) Haha.

Rolled Out of Bed

Happy March 1st!

Can you believe how fast the year is going? I've been MIA a lot since I've been plenty busy. I was catching up on school work and thankfully, everything paid off. My grades usually drop during Midterms (cause of the holiday hangover) but because of all the additional studying I did, my midterm grades surged, so all the effort I put into studying paid off! Just a little push more then hello fifth (and last) year!! :)

10 Things About Farrah

2/19/2015

mm

I've had these set of photos for quite a while now but could never think of what to write about. Then, I remembered getting tagged in one of those "20 things about me" posts on Facebook some months ago but could never get around to answering them. So, now that I'm relatively free (my exam weekS ended yesterday, and on a pretty good note nonetheless), I thought I would indulge myself in writing a post...about myself (Sooooo narcissistic. LOL). I only kept it at 10 cause I can't think of anything more than that.

Whenever I have toxic days, or exam days that fall on a wash day, I make it a point to dress up. That's so if I don't do well on the exam, at least I still look (and feel) good. If I do well, then the extra time I spent fixing up (or thinking of my outfit) wouldn't seem like such a waste. Haha! Justify pa. I haven't done a mixed print look in a while, and I'd like to think I've toned down a little in terms of picking outfits to wear to school, so this is a different kind of mixed print look--a bit more subtle. I haven't taken outfit shots for school in a long time so thank you Alex Ellevera for offering to take these for me! Haha. :) This is gonna be a quick post for now as I have some studying to get back to; just needed a break. (PS. Can you believe both my Saturday classes will have exams on the 14th?!! Profs, please show us some love! :( )

More photos after the jump!

A Touch of Marsala

2/02/2015

boho1
This year's Color of the Year is Marsala, an earthy wine red. As was last year, I had no doubt that this would be this year's color because as early as around October or November, I've been seeing merchandise left and right in this hue. It may seem tame (or boring to some) compared to last year's vibrant Radiant Orchid, but I still like the color. In fact, it's one of the colors I associate to the Fall season, and regular blog readers would know how much I love Fall/Winter dressing! :)

For Me

I don't know if you've felt it too, but social media is slowly losing its appeal.
Lately, I've been re-assessing myself, as well as my social media sites (of course, that includes my blog), and I feel like they aren't headed the same direction, which is why lately, every outfit feels like I tried too hard, every post feels forced, everything feels fake, all of which are things I don't stand for.

Here's one of the few posts I have left over from last year, and one of my favorite moments of 2014! You know the saying "buti pa ang lakad na di pinaplano, natutuloy"? (random outings push through more than planned ones) This was one of those instances!

First for 2015

Happy New Year!

This outfit post marks a couple of firsts for me--this is my first post of the year and my first time wearing pajama pants. I've always wanted to wear pajama pants because they're great for lazy days. I just never could because I couldn't find the perfect pair. I've got big hips (that don't lie) so instead of being loose around the area, the pants just hug 'em tight while the crotch area is left with an awkward bulge. Finally, my sister found the perfect pair for us girls with big booty so we got a couple of pairs. Here's something I would wear to a date--simple, fuss-free yet polished, and could take me from a movie to dinner and drinks.

#MagandangHapon Day 9: Airports

12/30/2014

Forever 21 romper and pants || F&F boots || brown leather jacket from my grandmother || bowler hat from Shibuya || photos by Bea Malveda

The day we left Japan was literally spent at the airport! I flew from Japan to Manila, then Manila to Davao. It was kind of weird and surreal to be waking up in chilly Japan then going to bed in warm Davao all in one day. I felt like I'd gone through too many events for one day, which just goes to show that A LOT can happen in a day. I'd initially planned wearing something different but because I'd overslept (we had a REALLY early morning wake-up call time), I decided to just go with a monochrome outfit and wear the bulkier items (leather jacket, boots) and items I couldn't pack (hat). I think I ended up looking very fasyon that even Migz commented that I was too dressed up for the flight home. LOL. Amazing (and funny) how a monochrome outfit can do wonders in adding a dash of sophistication, even when you're poorly prepared!

And this is the last of my Japan posts. :( / :)

Thank you so much to the Japanese government and tax payers for the opportunity! I really loved Japan and I miss it so much. Hope I can return in 2015!!

#MagandangHapon Day 8: Robots, Tokyo Tower and Pokemon

mirai

I promised myself that I won't have any more Japan posts by the time 2015 rolls in so here's the second to the last day we spent in Japan! The day started off early as usual, as we'd be traveling back to Tokyo from Chiba. There was a typhoon reportedly coming so we had to leave earlier than usual and take a longer route. However, thanks to Akiko-san and Endo-san's amazing planning powers, we actually got to Tokyo earlier than scheduled, and had to wait a good 30 minutes before the National Museum of Emerging Science and Technology (or Miraikan) opened.

A Different Perspective

12/28/2014

006

Confession: on the days leading up to Christmas, I couldn't feel the holiday spirit at at all. I even had an elaborate entry prepared but didn't post because I didn't want to ruin Christmas for you. I didn't know why I was feeling that way--was it because I've grown older? or because I was too focused on the now (it was exam week then)? or because I was just so used to the way my family and I celebrated Christmas that I already knew what to expect and got sick of it? Or maybe because I thought I wasn't gonna be having the Christmas I was used to with all the new clothes and gifts (parang bata lang)? Irregardless, the past few days after Christmas have opened my eyes and reminded me what Christmas (and the holiday season) is truly about. Sure, we all have been told that it's a celebration for the man who gave his life on the cross to save us from sin but I've learned that how we live the way that honors His sacrifice is also important, and that includes being grateful--being grateful for the littlest but most important things that we take for granted like our family and health.

#MagandangHapon Day 7: Farewell

12/23/2014

We had only been with our host families for about a day so you would expect little attachment should've been made, but no. They gave us something we rarely ever see in the world right now, and that's kindness. True, pure kindness. They let us into their homes without knowing anything about us and trusted us, fed us, entertained us, got to know us, taught us and just basically treated us as their own. Even though we speak different languages, that resonated so much that I and my fellow JENESYSts were moved to tears at the farewell party.

Abreeza Fashion Forum: Yosi Samra Holiday Collection

12/17/2014

When I found out that this month's Abreeza Fashion Forum was for Yosi Samra, I said yes immediately! First of all, I've heard so many raves about the brand and second, it was about shoes, and a girl can never have too many shoes. During the event, we learned more about the brand, as well as got a sneak peek at their holiday collection. :)

Weekender

12/14/2014

Weekends (or whatever's left of it anyway) are sacred to me because that's the only time I get to rest. I have 6 school days and a bulk of my time goes to school work, and working to achieve my fitness goals (I take a really long time to work out, just ask my trainer). I go home late to avoid the traffic then I "study" some more (I do most of my studying in school, during my 2-hour breaks) then go to bed at around 11 pm at most. I do this to have enough energy so I won't fall asleep in class or get tempted to skip my workout.
