Taking Gifting to the Next Level
11/11/2015
As the Department of Tourism slogan goes, "It's more fun in the Philippines"--and Christmas is no exception. The Philippines is said to have the longest Christmas season, which starts in September and ends in February. As the Christmas season rolls along, there is a flurry of activity and preparations everywhere: reunions left and right which means lots of kainan and exchange gifts.

Last Christmas

Happy New Year to you all!
I was recently contemplating whether or not to move to Wordpress since for the past few days, Blogger would not let me upload photos (I even already made an account on Wordpress and everything) but at the last minute, when everything was ready, I found out I had to shell out (more) money for them to map my domain. Anyway, I decided to back out. Maybe when everything is polished cause right now, I'm pretty busy as school just started today. But nevermind, firstly and importantly, I finally got my sister to come up with some new designs for my blog.

Gifts that Give
12/03/2012
Tis the season for gift giving but I think that it'd do the world a whole lot of good if we gave gifts that give--gifts that help our environment, promote a cause or give livelihood to the underprivileged. Here I've compiled a few of my favorites:
Php450
Ever since the Leyende event (and ever since I discovered their products), I've grown to like this cologne a lot (I also like their Mother Butter Cocoa lotion, which you can also buy here). It smells so fresh and it smells better the longer it is out! BTW, I am running out of perfume too, so *hint, hint* ;)
You can buy this at Zalora (5% off with TheStyleReactor120), Green Options at Gaisano Mall (for Davaoenos) or through http://www.leyende.com/.

Happy December 1st!

Merry Christmas!
Somehow I cannot believe it's December 1st already (and that it's soon about to end). I guess I am getting older and busier to notice how the days pass by. I'm sorry I was not productive in terms of blog entries for November (I just had 6, can you believe it?) but thank you all the same for still dropping by my blog. :) I'm sure with all the upcoming events, I'll have lots to blog about!
So what happened today was I looked for an outfit for the WAGW event next week. There were sales everywhere! Forever 21 had a double markdown sale but it was disappointing--only few items were on sale. I have yet to visit my other shopping spots and the DavCon bazaar tomorrow. After a short nap, my brother, dad, sister and I watched Rise of the Guardians. As I'm typing this entry (and looking for photos of snow), what an apt movie it is for today and the season! It was really funny and there were some heartwarming moments in there. I felt guilty because I realized how jaded and negative I can be. I wish I could have (or at least keep) that childlike wonder and innocence again.
For now, some pictures to get me (us) into the Christmas mood. Sorry for all the snow pictures. I'm so fascinated by it. One day, I do hope that dream my friends and I have of having a White Christmas comes true.

Backlog!
This happened December 20th but just got the photos from Aidx recently. We were supposed to have a huge party at the store, but in light of Sendong, we decided to have a dinner in Cellar de Oboza instead.

Holiday Shopping!

Thank God for Abreeza, big-sized clothing and more and better selections to choose from. We don't have to rely on the packages with clothes that my lola sends us from the States every year. Usually, they arrive late and we still have to find stuff to wear, which is hard considering my sisters and I are all big boned! Call it European sizes, I say!
Got 2 dresses for Christmas and New Year at Dorothy Perkins! Finally, I have no excuse to look like a mom, like Christmas 2009. *shudders*
The pink one is for tonight, the metallic one is for New Year's! Outfit-ey post soon!
Shoes are from Janilyn. I love them! They remind me of SJP's Manolos in the first SATC movie. It also looks like something Blair Waldorf would wear--in flats form.
I plan to accessorize with a turquoise cuff from SOUL Lifestyle. I got the necklace for my sister!
I could have easily went the usual black and pink way by choosing black shoes and black accessories, or you know, just pairing my dress with neutrals, but starting right now, I am resolving to start wearing more color!
So, 2011 Fashion Resolution to wear more color? CHECK! :)
Happy Holidays, loves!
Villa Christmas
11/10/2011
I woke up today feeling chilly despite not having turned on the electric fan in our room. That only means one thing:
CHRISTMAS!!!!!
I really look forward to Christmastime here because of a lot of things. There's suddenly a lot to do. There's a reason to shop. Believe it or not, I enjoy the hustle and bustle of the malls during Christmastime. I feel triumphant every time I leave the mall unscathed with awesome picks to boot. I want to try to do the whole shopping for your gift the whole year round but it's hard. It entails a lot of planning and I'm pretty spontaneous.
I love Christmastime cause it's cold. I love that we have an excuse to take out our coats (haha, hello red trench!) and boots! I love Christmas cause it's the time where families get together and celebrate Christ's birth. Somehow, beneath all the capitalism (with the gifts and spending), the true essence of Christmas really lies in togetherness. What are all the festivities for, if not to partake in them with the people you love?
I want to share with you how my family celebrates Christmas.
