What to Wear with Glasses

glasses

Who says girls in glasses can't be fashionable?

I wear glasses and I've been wearing them since 4th grade which is more than 10 years ago (go figure!). I would wear contacts but I'm an on the rush kind of girl, plus one of the reasons why I wear glasses is that if I don't, my cheeks would cover up my eyes when I smile. Haha! Dorothy Parker, an American writer and poet once said "Men don't make passes at girls who wear glasses". She might've been talking about me That is so untrue! Well what would she know? Nowadays, glasses are considered cool. If you doubt that, Google "girls with glasses" and you'll stumble upon Tumblr blogs dedicated to exactly that--girls with glasses.

My (Secret) Shopping Spots

11/22/2012

While waiting for Gossip Girl to finish downloading, I thought of doing a random post of where I buy my clothes. I'm not really a fan of spending exorbitant amounts of money on clothes (if I were to spend from my own pocket, I'd spend 1500php TOPS on an article of clothing. But if it were my parents' money, well, that's another story :)) ) Anyway, my favorite shops that are available locally Forever 21, Topshop and Dorothy Perkins but the latter two can get really pricey so I don't get to buy as often. Local brands that have nice clothes that are reasonably priced (for plus-sized girls like me) are Human, Oxygen and Tomato (well for bags and shoes). For shops which haven't reached our shores yet, I LOVE H&M. I have yet to check Ever New and Cotton On, two retail chains which have recently reached Manila shores. And if you're wondering what I think of Mango and Zara, well, they are the most fashion-forward of the set.

We went to Banana Beach last Sunday for my cousin Iago's 5th birthday. We had always planned to go to Banana Beach but it never pushed through til recently. I really loved the place! The party/lunch was held at Lanikai, a two-storey house which was so homey, it felt like you were at an old house's lanai (receiving area).

Afterwards, we took a tour of the plantation. The younger kids got on the e-walk, or elevated walk which led to the "jungle" part. We rode the van to check out The Spot, which features the beach as well as the infinity pool.
