Cult favorite brand Eye of Horus is now available in Davao!
Eye of Horus is an Australian make-up brand that looks to Ancient Egypt for inspiration. Their make-up range was created for women with sensitive eyes and brittle eyelashes. Their cosmetics are infused with beeswax, ricebran, candelilla and carnauba wax as well as moringa oil, their secret to an easy-gliding, long-wearing formula that is non-irritating. I was invited to the media launch at Echostore last November 7.
Joining us were Ms. Lia Andrea Ramos, co-founder and CEO of Glamourbox, a leading online beauty discovery platform that first introduced Eye of Horus to the Philippines. Familiar? She was also a candidate for the 2006 Ms. Universe.
One of the co-founders of Eye of Horus, Amy Lennane, was also there for the launch. Amy introduced Eye of Horus, as well as some new products that they were working on. Aside from the 9 existing shades, they introduced an indigo blue eyeliner shade (Scarab Sapphire) as well as the eye shadow palettes, which will be coming out next year.
The powders come in a magnetic tin so you can change them. The powders have a great color pay-off and are very easy to spread. This one's called the Mystical Sheba shadow palette.
One of the eyeliner pencils. They're very waxy and come with a blending brush at the other end. It's best to blend within 40 seconds because after the time period, the liner sets. I've tried it myself; they're really long-wearing! Another one of the favorites is their mascara. They really make your eyes pop out! This is the product that most EOH fanatics swear by! I also loved their liquid liner, which has a stable brush, so it's perfect for people like me who aren't as adept at applying liquid liner.
There was a make-up demonstration by Carine Bacani. She showed us how to make a simple day-to-night look using the products.
Eye of Horus was first introduced to the Philippines in November 2013 and less than a year after, it's reached cult favorite status among bloggers, magazine editors and make-up artists. It's probably because of its ability to withstand our warm tropical climate similar to Australia. Eye of Horus is distributed in the US, Italy, UK, Sweden, New Zealand, Bahamas and now, the Philippines.
