Dressv Colored Wedding Dresses 2014
4/04/2014
A purist at heart, I've always believed that brides should walk the aisle in a white dress. However, you can't deny that times are changing and brides are more liberal nowadays. A lot of them go for colored wedding dresses. Jessica Biel went for a pink wedding dress and Avril Lavigne stayed true to her skater girl image and went for a black wedding dress to her second gothic-themed wedding. Sarah Jessica Parker also went against the norm and showed us why she's a fashion icon by going for a black wedding dress. You don't have to go that drastic by pulling off boldly colored wedding dresses though; pink or blush is usually a popular choice for most brides. Among other popular colors are ivory, daffodil, champagne or silver.

Wedding Whore
12/04/2011
I am Farrah and I am a wedding whore.
I dunno why but ever since I started reading the papers, I just tend to gravitate towards the wedding announcement section. Lately, I have taken to wedding photography, browsing sites I see on the papers. I have a few favorites already. I wanna tell you but I'm too ashamed. I'm quite in the closet about my wedding obsessiveness. I'm scared to have this made known cause I just know if my mother sees me with a bridal mag in hand, she'd go:
"You wanna get married already?"
and the dreaded 6 words that come after:
"You don't even have a boyfriend yet"
Yeah mom, I know. :(
So anyway, I was reading Carla's blog the other day and came across a site she posted. It was Nelwin Uy's site. He shot Kristine Hermosa and Oyo Boy Sotto's engagement photos. For someone who is so into wedding photography, I was so not in the loop on this one! Anyway, here are some of my favorites from the Kristine-Oyo shoot. You can't steal his photos so I opted to take a screenshot, as Carla did.
Some of my favorite photos. The middle one reminds me so much of Pangako Sa 'Yo.
My other faves are Jeff and Pia's wedding in Laguna Beach, as well as Paris shot on film. I am definitely going to Paris someday, mark my words! I haven't browsed through the whole site yet cause I don't want to spoil myself silly. Besides, when I do check, I try to look through 2-3 weddings at a time, just to savor the photos. heeeee :'>
This is so random but gah. I wish I could go to Bangkok this December for my aunt's wedding! I would wanna at least try my hand at taking wedding photos. Plus, I haven't been there yet, so I'd probably spazz and take tons of market photos as well. Someone sponsor me? :(
Vera Wang F/W 2011
11/04/2011
People who know me best know how much I love weddings! I love looking through wedding sites, Tumblr wedding sites and designers' wedding gown designs. I love wedding photography--it looks hard but I think the results truly pay off--and of course, wedding dresses! I love the girly feel it brings--tons and tons of chiffon, tulle. And although there are also structural and classic wedding gowns, think about it, it still has that girly element to it. Doesn't every bride feel like that little girl they once were, finally getting their dream come true?
I just haven't gotten around posting about weddings on this blog though, cause you guys might think I want to get hitched already! No way, highway! Anyway, every bride-to-be has a go-to designer in mind when it comes to wedding dresses and that is Vera Wang.
Vera Wang creates the most gorgeous, ethereal, feminine dresses. It's like her hand was as light as a feather while sketching. If I were to be a wedding gown designer, how I wish I could be half as good as her. I looked through her website and here are some of my favorites. Most of them came from the F/W 2011 collection.
This dress is called the Harlow from the S/S 2012 collection. Classic ballgown shape. Perfect for the unconventional bride who doesn't wanna wear white. (BTW, did you ever notice that Vera loves cinching the waist with a sash?)
