Farrah's Finds: Maybelline Lip Smooth Color Bloom

11/10/2011

I was in the mall the other day when I found this in Watson's.
It's the Maybelline Lip Smooth Color Bloom Lip Balm.

I wrote a post before about how dry lips are so unbecoming, especially on women. My mother always had us carry lip balms around. I like this product cause it's a lip color and lip balm in one. Perfect for me, because I don't like putting on lipstick or lip gloss, yet I complain how pale my lips are.

It appears clear, but has a really nice shade of pink when put on. It's also available in a peach color.

The best part? It only costs PHP 99! Hardly expensive!

Now, no one has an excuse to go around with dry (or pale) lips! Hahaha.
Cheers!

Villa Christmas

I woke up today feeling chilly despite not having turned on the electric fan in our room. That only means one thing:

CHRISTMAS!!!!!

I really look forward to Christmastime here because of a lot of things. There's suddenly a lot to do. There's a reason to shop. Believe it or not, I enjoy the hustle and bustle of the malls during Christmastime. I feel triumphant every time I leave the mall unscathed with awesome picks to boot. I want to try to do the whole shopping for your gift the whole year round but it's hard. It entails a lot of planning and I'm pretty spontaneous.

I love Christmastime cause it's cold. I love that we have an excuse to take out our coats (haha, hello red trench!) and boots! I love Christmas cause it's the time where families get together and celebrate Christ's birth. Somehow, beneath all the capitalism (with the gifts and spending), the true essence of Christmas really lies in togetherness. What are all the festivities for, if not to partake in them with the people you love?

I want to share with you how my family celebrates Christmas.

So Grateful

I started this blog as an outlet to voice out what I feel, as well as share to an audience what I feel and how I feel about certain things. I'm really quiet in person but pretty noisy on paper or on the internet because I feel like no one listens to me live. So, blogging has been a pretty great medium for expression--it really fit me like a glove.

Aside from that, it allowed me to get to know myself better, help better myself, help me appreciate the things going on in my life at the moment. It also served as something to do and focus on during the idle time I had resting, while everyone was at school. I never really expected to be able to inspire someone.

My friend Heidi recently wrote a blog entry on how she is now embracing her curves after years of insecurity. I'm really proud of her, as I know of her struggles with the weight issues that have hounded us for years. She cited me and The Plump Pinay for 'proudly embracing her (our) curves'

Just wanted you to know that I'm really touched that I was able to inspire you in a way or two, woman. Thank you for "featuring" me in an entry. Cheers to being fab and confident in our own bodies! :)

Well now, that makes one more happy woman in the world.

Sometimes, it really is tempting to want to change who we are even though we were born this way. But, it really is easier and more fulfilling to just accept who we are. If we can't learn to love ourselves, who will? :)
