Farrah's Finds: BYS Brow Gel

2/29/2016

It's been a long, long time since I wrote a Farrah's Finds post! But then again, it's been a long time since I found a beauty product that I liked almost instantly. Just like with my friends, I'm really picky with the products I use. If I find one I like, I stick with it for a long time. :) I was initially hesitant to buy the product because I didn't see any review for this particular product online, but I really did end up liking it so I'm doing one myself.

When Kwesh, Pat and I met up during the holidays, the first thing I noticed were Kwesh's brows, which were on fleek! She told me she was using LA Girl's gel eye liner, which could also be used for brows. I tried to look for it in the department store, but they didn't have the shade I want. :( So anyway, fast forward to a few months later, I was looking for brown eye liner when the girl at the counter recommended this to me: BYS Brow Gel in Bold Brunette. It could be dual-purpose, she said. She showed it to me and put it on, and I liked it. But what really sold me was when she taught me how to put it on myself and I found it really easy! I've always been meaning to transition to gel liner (for both my eyes and eyebrows) but I was scared because I didn't know how to use it, so I just kept sticking to the pencil kind.

Anyway, I'll be doing a step-by-step just to show you how to put it on (naks, parang true!) and how it looks on. :P Much respect for beauty bloggers! It's so makuti to be one! :))

This is the product. It comes in a little jar that can easily fit in your kikay kit. It also includes a little brush which is found on the lid.

This is the liner itself. It's got a creamy texture, and you don't need a lot of product. In fact, you can just dab your brush. It's just 2g, but I think it could last you more than a year! From above you can see that the product looks light brown, but it comes off a bit darker. That's why if you want it to look a bit lighter, you have to swipe some product off across your hand just to lighten it (and straighten the brush at the same time as well).

Here's the part where I put the product on myself =))

before application

My brows are already full, so I don't actually have to put a lot of product. I just need them to look groomed, that's why I need the liner so I can outline a shape.

See? It's a little light brown after you remove the excess product. All you have to do then is line your brows and then fill in the sparse areas. For filling in, I just used In2it brow powder in a lighter shade.

TIP: Please, as a general rule, choose a color at least 1-2 shades lighter than your natural hair color. It's really weird to see people with brows darker than their hair color, especially when they lay the product on too thick. It's not really a no-no cause Cara Delevingne can pull it off, but then again, you know, not everyone is Cara Delevingne.

TA-DAAA! The outcome! What do you think?

I got super OC cause they don't look alike. But then again, I remembered brows are sisters, not twins.

Comments:

*really long lasting
(some of the product I dabbed onto my hand is still here, albeit slightly faded..and this is a day later, after I've taken a bath)

*easy to remove
(I had a lot of mistakes doing my brows for this post, but I was easily able to correct them. Just wipe it off while it's still wet)

*affordable
(It's sold for Php 399, which is slightly more expensive than LA Girl's Gel Liner, but it's okay na din cause it's an Australian brand din naman and I get both eye liner and brow gel in a color I want)
