The 1st Kadayawan Trade Fair and Bazaar

KADAYAWAN!!!

The term "Kadayawan" is derived from the Mandaya word “madayaw”,a warm and friendly greeting used to explain a thing that is valuable, superior, beautiful, good, or profitable. (from kadayawan.com website) 

It's a celebration that showcases the bounty of harvest, as well as a thanksgiving for all the blessings that have been given to our city. A lot of Davaoenos look forward to this celebration, and thousands of visitors flock to Davao to celebrate with us.

Anyway, I haven't been able to celebrate Kadayawan in Davao for 3 years now, so I'm quite excited to this year. I'm especially excited for The 1st Great Kadayawan Trade Fair and Bazaar. (especially the bazaar part! :P)

It will be held at the Davao Convention Center, F. Torres Street, Davao City from August 18-21, 2011 at these times:

Aug 18 (Thurs)  5:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Aug 19 (Fri) 3:00 pm - 12:00 mn

Aug 20 (Sat) 3:00 pm - 12:00 mn

Aug 21 (Sun) 11:00 am - 10:00 pm

Some participants/exhibitors include House of Glamorosa, Dress Diaries,Candy Bags, and Extremefinds (brought to Davao by Curl On Top). 






OTHER EVENTS TO LOOK FORWARD TO:




On Aug 20, from 4-6pm, will be The Great Kadayawan Fashion Show, which will showcase creations from Davao designers and brands.

Aug 21, from 3-5pm, will be The Great Kadayawan Cosplay, wherein cosplayers dress up as their favorite characters from popular anime or manga.
