Havaianas Obrigada 2015

Every year, Martish, Southern Mindanao's exclusive sub-distributor of Havaianas, celebrates Obrigada ("Thank You" in Portuguese) with Davao's press and bloggers as a way of saying thank you for their support for the brand after all these years. It's also a chance for Havaianas to update the media on their latest activities and events as well as showcase their latest collection.  I've been invited no-fail to these gatherings and I've always loved attending! I always say Martish throws the best events--every little detail is painstakingly cared for, and this year's Obrigada was no exception!
This year's theme was celebrating the Year of the Sheep (my Chinese astrological sign!) and it was held at the Lotus Court in Marco Polo, Davao's premier Cantonese restaurant.

We were entertained by dancers from the Philippine Academy of Sakya who performed a traditional Chinese dance.

And we were introduced to this year's Obrigada ambassadresses: yoga practitioner Maybelle Yu, Dr. Jen Lim, Chuchay Sison & columnist Nikki Gotianse-Tan, all embodying the Havaianas vibe. Here they are with Marga Nograles and her kids Massimo, Matteo and Nikka.


The new Havaianas collection features work from Brazilian visual artist Cako Martin for the Havaianas arts collection, the Frozen collection for kids and Havaianas Chocolate for Teens.

There was a Havaianas wall as well as a "Guess How many Havaianas key chains" booth. I won a gift check cause I guessed 387 but the answer was 384. Lucky Year of the Sheep for me! :p
