Ditch the shoes and don the season's trendiest flip-flops because here comes the sun! Just before long-planned beach escapades get rolling, kick off the season with the world's favorite brand of flip-flops! On March 27, Havaianas officially welcomes summer nationwide with National Flip-flops Day!

Every year, Martish, Southern Mindanao's exclusive sub-distributor of Havaianas, celebrates Obrigada ("Thank You" in Portuguese) with Davao's press and bloggers as a way of saying thank you for their support for the brand after all these years. It's also a chance for Havaianas to update the media on their latest activities and events as well as showcase their latest collection.  I've been invited no-fail to these gatherings and I've always loved attending! I always say Martish throws the best events--every little detail is painstakingly cared for, and this year's Obrigada was no exception!

Forever Summer

Hello to my first ever post with the short hair! I still have another one from my sisters' graduations but I bumped it off for this post because I loved how the photos turned out. There's nothing much to share, since I haven't done much summer-y things like go to the beach, party (or go to a beach party HAHA) or see my friends, but that doesn't mean I can't dress the part! ;) I was bored yesterday so I dragged my sister off her bed to take my photos. For someone reluctant (and for a photography noob), I thought she did a pretty good job of making me look skinny! Haha

Obrigada 2014

Last March 12, Martish invited some friends from the media (including us bloggers) and a few of it's loyal clientele & VIPs to Obrigada 2014 at the Northcrest Ballroom. Martish Marketing Co. is the exclusive distributor of Havaianas in Southern Mindanao and holds Obrigada ('thank you' in Portuguese) annually to thank everyone for the support for the previous year. At the same time, they also use the time to launch a new collection.

I've been really privileged to have been able to attend Obrigada. From 2012's green eco-chic theme to last year's nautical theme (which I wasn't able to go to!) and this year's vintage summer theme, Obrigada just keep getting bigger and better!

Make Your Own Havaianas 2013

The Make Your Own Havaianas (MYOH) is an event a lot of people (especially Havaianaticos everywhere in the Philippines) look forward to. I'm blessed cause this is the 2nd year I've been invited to experience MYOH again.

 Just sharing some photos from my recent weekend trip to Manila. No, my trip cannot be summarized in just these 3 paltry photos. I'm just a sad excuse for a "blogger" as I had forgotten my camera. :( Anyway, I attended a Chemical Engineering conference organized by my former org, UP KEM with some of my classmates from Ateneo (UGH I dont even have a pic with them!! How sad is that?).

Make Your Own Havaianas 2012

Tomorrow til Sunday(September 14-16) is the annual  Make Your Own Havaianas event at the Abreeza Activity Center!







Havaianas is the first to offer flip flop customization. You can pick from an assortment of straps. They have jelly, fluorescent and even glow in the dark! Among the new offerings are the straps mentioned as well as letter pins and Swarovski-encrusted pins. Or if you are adventurous, you can spin the wheel and leave it up to chance! :)

Last Thursday, I got a little something from Havaianas. I swear, they are always so creative and thematic when it comes to giving us presents. Anyway, here is what I got.

Obrigado 2012

I started out my week really busy. I had school in the morning and a event and shoot for SOUL Lifestyle in the afternoon. 

I was invited by my cousin ate Marga, to the Havaianas media lunch called Obrigado. Obrigado is the Portuguese word for "Thank You". And certainly, Havaianas has so much to be thankful for. Ate Marga and our cousin, ate Tisha brought Havaianas to Mindanao in 2005. Six (ongoing seven) years later, they are going strong!
