Highway 81

4/17/2016

On Black Saturday this year, my bloggies and I drove off to Buda to spend some time together, and get a whiff of the cold mountain air while we're at it. Our mission: to get some of the famous sikwate at suman from Seagull Resort, and check out Highway 81, which has been popping up all over our Instagram feeds.

Manila Weekend Warrior

11/10/2015

When the weekend rolls in, some yuppies in Manila escape the city, if only to get some peace of mind before Monday rolls in again. I, however, have gotten enough peace and greenery from my fair city to want to crave some of the hustle and bustle of the city I lived in for 3 years. (It's always been a thing my high school friends and I agree on: when we're in Davao for too long, we want the busy-ness of the city, where you never run out of anything to do; when we're in Manila for too long, we crave the peace, familiarity and open spaces Davao offers. If only there was some place we could get both in the right amounts..) Anyway, since our (last) semestral break lasted a month, I had a few days to spare when my bestie Ayessa asked me to accompany her for a few days to the metro.

Bonding with my Babs: Pepperplate and Cafe Blooming Days

10/28/2015

It starts out great: you promise to remain close and keep in touch. When you're miles apart, you promise to see each other every chance you get. Then one day, while sitting on the toilet, you realize that you haven't seen them in so long when before, thinking about being away from them months apart at a time was unimaginable. What happened? Growing up happened. Something one of my friends like to call "adult" (as in, the use of adult as a verb instead of a noun) happened.

Sembreak Chronicles: Blogger Bestie Roadtrip!

Here's one of the few posts I have left over from last year, and one of my favorite moments of 2014! You know the saying "buti pa ang lakad na di pinaplano, natutuloy"? (random outings push through more than planned ones) This was one of those instances!

The Return of the Comeback

9/21/2014

I never thought I could go a month without updating my blog. Before, I used to think it absurd that people couldn't be able to actually find time to update their blog until it happened to me. September has been nothing but all sorts of busy. This led me to call it #SuperSeptember

Last Christmas

Happy New Year to you all!

I was recently contemplating whether or not to move to Wordpress since for the past few days, Blogger would not let me upload photos (I even already made an account on Wordpress and everything) but at the last minute, when everything was ready, I found out I had to shell out (more) money for them to map my domain. Anyway, I decided to back out. Maybe when everything is polished cause right now, I'm pretty busy as school just started today. But nevermind, firstly and importantly, I finally got my sister to come up with some new designs for my blog.

Checking In

12/08/2013

I'm really sorry it took me 8 days into the LAST month of the year for you to hear from me again. I know, I know. I keep making excuses but I've seriously been LEGIT busy lately, and not even a month has passed since the semester started. To give you an idea how my schedule this semester goes, let's just say that my TTh classes run from 7:40am-9pm, no break. I have a minimum of 2 lab classes per day (on Tuesdays, it's 3--computing lab, actual lab work and computer lab (AutoCAD); on Thursdays I have PE) which each run for 3 hrs. My MWF schedule is lighter but it's those days I do errands, study AND tutor, so I still end up going home late. I missed our house a lot, so I spent the whole of yesterday home alone, resting and studying. I really wanted to watch Frozen, but certain sacrifices must be made if I do want to pass the semester with flying colors.

Darcy's Place

10/06/2013

Last Friday, I met up with mah gurlz Mithi and Julienne after not seeing them for over a month. The last time we saw each other was at our little chill Kadayawan gathering and even though it's only been a month, it felt like ages! A lot happened that we needed to share in person (cause sometimes, a story told through text messaging does not cut it!) so we planned to meet up.

Our group's problem when we do go out though is..."where to eat?" Even when we were in Manila, where there are tons of establishments to choose from, we'd always take long to pick a place to eat. It was a good thing Mithi thought of and suggested this place, which she's heard raves about from her classmates.

I'm a Sad Excuse for a Blogger (My Manila Trip)

Just sharing some photos from my recent weekend trip to Manila. No, my trip cannot be summarized in just these 3 paltry photos. I'm just a sad excuse for a "blogger" as I had forgotten my camera. :( Anyway, I attended a Chemical Engineering conference organized by my former org, UP KEM with some of my classmates from Ateneo (UGH I dont even have a pic with them!! How sad is that?).

Busy Week

7/18/2013

My Thursdays afternoons are usually reserved for blogging. My class ends at 12:30 on Thursdays and since it's Friday the next day, there's not much left to do, academics-wise. Since it's usually a 4-day gap between the latest post from the last one, all my stories accumulate. Not that I have a lot to tell about my life anyway; a bulk of my blog entries come from my musings, observations (of random people HAHA) and brain farts.

Stripes

Here's another outfit from the four we shot at SM the other week. This set is probably my favorite because of the concept, the clothes and how the photos turned out. Honestly, I'm so glad that my friends are game! It made everything easier and much more fun!

Shocking

5/17/2013

Remember how in my last post I said that I wanted to feature the special people in my life in outfit posts? Here's another one. This my friend Heidi from Infinite Playlist. She was my classmate 3 out of the 4 years in high school but we only became really close in college.

Faux-cella

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, or simply and widely known as Coachella happened around two weeks ago. However, that's not stopping me from posting my own festival-inspired look, what with music festivals happening here and there--Wanderland and Summer Solstice to name a few.

From Hell (Week) and Back

3/26/2013

This skirt is my gauge for how much I weigh. If I feel like I look huge in it, I gained weight. If I look and feel good in it, my butt isn't the size of Jupiter.

Love this photo! It looks like twas taken at a summer festival! :)

Last Friday at about 2pm, I submitted my Filipino paper (the very same one I've been b*tching about for a few posts now), my last requirement for the sem so as of Friday, I was officially free!! Or not quite. Actually, I just got home from school for the last activity of the semester--a play for our Literature class. I was just one of the behind-the-scenes people though so nothing major there.

Anyway, sorry again for the week without posts!! It was hell exam week, which I'm sure you all can identify with. I wasn't supposed to be stressed because I planned everything out but at the last minute (last Monday), when I was about to print my Filipino paper, I found out my file got corrupted. I anticipated these "technical difficulties" since it has happened to me so I emailed myself copies of the files after I edited them but the last copy I had that wasn't ALSO corrupted was from around March 10 so it was so bare! To make a long story short, I had to re-type a paper I worked on for a month in a day and a half (found out the deadline was actually Friday. phew!) That's not counting my mega combo 4 exam day last Wednesday (8 am-9pm)!

The Wind In My Hair

Such a weird title for the post but I couldn't think of anything! I think I'm finding myself stuck in another rut--writing-wise and outfit-wise! School's ending in less than a month from now and before that, as of now I have 4 major requirements to accomplish: my English portfolio, reports and experiments (+ packaging!) for the upcoming Engineering and Architecture Fair (that's March 8-9 at Abreeza), my FILIPINO RESEARCH PAPER, and our Literature play (say whuut!). It's funny cause most of those requirements are from my minor subjects and they make me feel like I'm in high school, like the play. I would much rather write a play review or something, or maybe that's just me.
Anyway enough of the ranting. This is what I wore to our blogger Valentine dinner last Feb 16. Upon inspection of my planner last year, I found out that our first blogger dinner at K-Steak (for chikka sake lang) was held Feb 17! So I thought maybe this should be made a tradition soon! :) Sadly, not everyone we invited was able to go due to last minute constraints so it was again just me, Dawn and Kwesh basically but Steph and Janvie dropped by. Plus, we also got to meet Ella. We ate at Bon Apetit at GMall. It was our first time there. I don't have photos of the food (and of us) though cause my sister borrowed my camera as it was her prom night that night too.
I wanted to wear something casual, chill and posh--like the rich classy girls wear for Sunday lunch or a casual dinner with friends. I wish I wore pants though, it was freezing that night!! Anyway, I don't know if I pulled it off but I hope I did! Haha
Enjoy the last day of the long weekend!!
(Thank God for it, I'm doing my paper and it's hard to translate scientific stuff to Tagalog)

One Thing

2/17/2013

Just a short post before we head off to church!

Here's something I wore to a movie date with my friend (and new photog) Lorraine about a month ago (oops! haha). We watched the noon showing of Les Mis and since I woke up late, I grabbed the first thing I saw.

CdO foodtrip

2/07/2013

I was in CDO for a couple of days last week to attend a Chemical Engineering conference, as well as you know, visit my lovah Mia Durano of thehandmadeturban.com. After a grueling first day (we arrived at 4:30 am on Friday and had plant tours from 8:30am-5:30pm!! More about that soon!), finally we could rest and do whatever we wanted so I called Mia and she picked me up. We went to her house so she could change and she took me to Centrio.

Dong Juan

2/05/2013

Two Fridays ago, my friend Mithi and I went out after not seeing each other for a couple of weeks (wow, what's with the two-week interval period? :)) ) Anyway, after walking around a bit, we decided to stop by for a place to eat and chanced upon Dong Juan at the top floor of Abreeza.

Christmas Dinner

"Friends are the family we choose for ourselves"

Some photos from our group's Christmas dinner last Saturday.
We had a chill dinner at Lea's place. We talked and then played the "S-game" which is a drinking game that is harder than it seems :)
