I've always wanted to do an outfit post featuring me and the people I'm close to (or perhaps my fellow bloggers) and I'm glad that the first person to be featured in a pair post is my mom!

From Hell (Week) and Back

This skirt is my gauge for how much I weigh. If I feel like I look huge in it, I gained weight. If I look and feel good in it, my butt isn't the size of Jupiter.

Last Friday at about 2pm, I submitted my Filipino paper (the very same one I've been b*tching about for a few posts now), my last requirement for the sem so as of Friday, I was officially free!! Or not quite. Actually, I just got home from school for the last activity of the semester--a play for our Literature class. I was just one of the behind-the-scenes people though so nothing major there.
Anyway, sorry again for the week without posts!! It was hell exam week, which I'm sure you all can identify with. I wasn't supposed to be stressed because I planned everything out but at the last minute (last Monday), when I was about to print my Filipino paper, I found out my file got corrupted. I anticipated these "technical difficulties" since it has happened to me so I emailed myself copies of the files after I edited them but the last copy I had that wasn't ALSO corrupted was from around March 10 so it was so bare! To make a long story short, I had to re-type a paper I worked on for a month in a day and a half (found out the deadline was actually Friday. phew!) That's not counting my mega combo 4 exam day last Wednesday (8 am-9pm)!

On Graduation and Overstaying

In a few days time (and in a month for my UP friends), my friends will be graduating from college. This, plus knowing I have a couple more years to go before my own graduation gives me mixed feelings. First of all, naturally, I'm happy for them. Congratulations you guys!! However, it made me think "Where did the years go?" I remember entering college in 2008 thinking March 2013 would be MY endgame. Back then, I was so idealistic and confident I would finish in time. How naive of me not to know the ChE mortality rate!! Haha

Just welcoming the last month of school with a realllllly old outfit post, the last one I've saved in my drafts. I haven't been taking photos of my outfits to school for the past two weeks cause I felt too lazy to care or dress up but I hope that's about to change soon. Or at least I hope I have time to take outfit shots soon. I did a little shopping so I have at least more stuff to overuse and blog about. HAHA

White's Hot: The Fall

So says one of my favorite actresses and role models Emma Watson. I guess I don't have to say why I emulate her--she's beautiful, talented, rich, classy and smart--everything I want to be and am striving to be. It brings me so much comfort knowing that she is also a believer in dressing for yourself. I think I wrote an entry here on my blog once wherein I shared that time I "dressed to impress" during UP enrollment (or didn't I?) and ended up getting blisters for wearing my best (and new) shoes. I can also think of other instances wherein I wore something fasyon and ended up not enjoying the event I went to. Learning from those mistakes, I try to meet in the middle of trendy and classic-comfortable. I mean, what's the point of looking great if you can't have a good time?

This is what I wore to watch Bourne Legacy with my sister Feebee at Abreeza today. I came from school and I asked my sister to come over to take my outfit shots for me. For her to agree to go to Abreeza, I had to treat her to a movie. At first it was okay cause I had a free pass and I’d only have to pay for 1 but I missed the starting of Brave (I thought it was 1:30 but it was actually scheduled at 12:30), so we watched the Bourne Legacy instead. It was okay. My geeky self got thrilled while Rachel Weisz was rambling on about genetic effects cause I could relate. There were some parts I almost fell asleep to though, but I was at the edge of my seat during the Manila action scenes.

So, what inspired this outfit? Necessity..and Europe. I took longer than usual to dress today because I literally had nothing fasyown to wear. We were supposed to have a blogger lunch and I knew we’d go off to shoot afterwards. Knowing Kweshie, she’d be in something bongga! But sadly, it didn’t push through, which was why I had to call my sister. This outfit is what my mom and I would jokingly refer to as simple pero rock (Origin of this statement: I had my yaya sign my autograph/slam book when I was younger and at the describe yourself part, that’s what she put in. It stuck, that’s why I remember it). I really tend to go for the classic look...with a twist. I really love all these chic Europeans I see on Tumblr. Their clothes are simple but beautifully tailored and they are the epitome of the understated glamour. Though I know I should wear color while I’m in my 20’s, I think the pink shoes give a cheeky statement to my serious look. I wore almost the exact same thing yesterday, but black pants and a white polo. I didn’t get the chance to have my photo taken so I wore something similar today.

Anyway, this is super random but I realized it’s both kind of sad and all right to have the same clothes. Sad cause you wear the same thing over again, but at the same time, it’s okay because you tend to treat your clothing like your friends. I don’t know, because of my size, I’d never had that much clothing, so I already have that go-to set. Like with friends, I already have a go-to set who I depend on, who I’m comfortable with.

So, what are you guys up to tonight?

I think I’m gonna stay in and have a date with Holden Caulfield (Before you guys rejoice at the prospect of me having a date, for those who don’t know, he’s the character in The Catcher in the Rye. HAHA).

This is what I wore to school today, my last day of being 20.

It was pretty chilly so I took advantage of the weather and covered up. I've had Camille Co's recent military inspired look in mind so that's what I used for inspiration. I felt like I was in a cosmopolitan city such as Hong Kong (or heck, even New York) in this outfit. I loved that it was simple, chic yet felt young and grown-up at the same time, if that's even possible. :) I just wish the photos did justice to my outfit. #bloggerproblem :(

Anyway, today was a pretty amazing day. In some ways, I even felt that today was my birthday cause I had a good feeling the whole day. I was productive (finished all my errands) and met up with Mimi and Jun after about a month and a half (a year in SOUL Lifestyle days!!). Sometimes I feel as if with birthdays there are added pressures--for example, I'd probably feel sad if someone didn't greet me, or something that's been bugging me for days: if I have to eat alone tomorrow--things like that. I guess that's why I enjoyed today; I didn't need to expect today to be perfect because I knew it wasn't my day. I realized that I shouldn't bank on having THE perfect day just cause it's my birthday tomorrow. Some deep 20-year old musings, right? HAHA

I am back in Davao after my (roughly) 36-hour trip to Manila!

This is what I wore yesterday to mass and dinner at Grab a Crab (our first time to try the place). I wore everything besides the turban to the airport. :)) I wore it for a pop of color to my plain outfit. I kind of regret it cause it kind of made my head look weird, but at the same time, I love the mix of colors. When I was in Forever 21, I couldn't let it go!

So sorry for the low quality, orange-y tint photos. These were taken indoors :( Anyway, will be blogging about my Manila trip (and what I got) in the coming days!

What I wore to the last day of the Bloggers' Sale. NOT.

Actually, I was just in this top and denim shorts. But imagine, tables of fashionable clothes? It was hard NOT to wanna play dress up! I found this skirt on Pat and Wilson's table. I can't believe it actually fit me! :)

I don't really wear heels, but since this is dress-up, I got Kweshie's heels (nude to elongate my legs natch!).

This outfit is a first of sorts for me.


I first wore my top from Uniqlo. It's actually a tunic, but I didn't feel like wearing pants to school. Instead, I borrowed my sister's H&M skirt (thank God we're the same size! :)) ) So actually, this is the first time I wore a skirt to school. I just haven't dared to til now because I'm scared the guards won't let me in due to the dress code.

Anyway, speaking of firsts, today I got my invites to Philippine Fashion Week!! :)
