My 23rd year is starting off with a bang!

 I've got so many things lined up in the next few months that I'm excited to share with you all.

So Fetch (Mean Girls 10th Anniversary!)

Mean Girls (starring Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Lacey Chabert, Amanda Seyfried and Tina Fey) is one of my favorite movies of all time! It’s one of this generation’s most quotable (and quoted) movies ever. If you haven’t heard the phrase “If you’re from Africa, why are you white?”, then you must be living under a rock! One of the reasons why I love that movie though, aside from it being quotable, relatable and a load of laughs, is that it bonds people. My roomie Heidi and I used to go back and forth, throwing lines at each other, reciting the script from memory as we tried to stay awake while studying. That’s probably one of my favorite moments of ours, ever.

My Worst Enemy

Nietzsche said  "the worst enemy you can meet will always be yourself" and I have to agree. How many times have we doubted ourselves and our capabilities? How many times have we compared what we've achieved and what others have achieved? How many times have we been insecure about how we look? How many times have we ever felt that WE. JUST. AREN'T. GOOD. ENOUGH?

Blair

This is the third and final installment for my polo series and since the last outfit was about Serena, this outfit's obviously inspired by Blair. With a change of the bottom and a change of the shoes, plus the headband, I was able to create another entirely different look (and feel) than the last outfit. This is one of the things I love about fashion: endless possibilities.

Serena

So if it isn't obvious from the title, my outfit was inspired by one of the more iconic outfits Serena van der Woodsen of Gossip Girl wore in Paris at the start of the fourth season. Now my style isn't very Serena (I actually like Blair's polished style more), but I have to admit that I love how her looks are so effortless and "I-just-rolled-out-of-bed-and-grabbed-whatever-I-saw"...well, except for this look cause I think that gold and cobalt blue look of hers looked like one of the more polished ones she had. (Proof: she didn't have her signature tousled hair HAHA)

Stripes

Here's another outfit from the four we shot at SM the other week. This set is probably my favorite because of the concept, the clothes and how the photos turned out. Honestly, I'm so glad that my friends are game! It made everything easier and much more fun!

Comfort Zone

I think it was last week that my friend Allan tweeted "Life begins at the end of your comfort zone" and I swear, that quote couldn't have come at a more opportune time. It's not only applicable to my friends who have just recently graduated or to those who'll be starting their new jobs, but also to me, a perpetual dweller of the comfort zone.

The Future Looks Bright

Last Monday, my fellow bloggers and I from the Davao Fashion Bloggers group gave a talk and mini-styling session for the kids taking the South Spot workshop. The talk was for 12-16 year olds so I thought it was best to make youthful my usual basic neutral outfits by injecting color. Besides, summer is the perfect time to wear color and lots of it!

My (Secret) Shopping Spots

While waiting for Gossip Girl to finish downloading, I thought of doing a random post of where I buy my clothes. I'm not really a fan of spending exorbitant amounts of money on clothes (if I were to spend from my own pocket, I'd spend 1500php TOPS on an article of clothing. But if it were my parents' money, well, that's another story :)) ) Anyway, my favorite shops that are available locally Forever 21, Topshop and Dorothy Perkins but the latter two can get really pricey so I don't get to buy as often. Local brands that have nice clothes that are reasonably priced (for plus-sized girls like me) are Human, Oxygen and Tomato (well for bags and shoes). For shops which haven't reached our shores yet, I LOVE H&M. I have yet to check Ever New and Cotton On, two retail chains which have recently reached Manila shores. And if you're wondering what I think of Mango and Zara, well, they are the most fashion-forward of the set.
