Sporty Grunge

Although not usually my style, I find myself gravitating towards a lot of grunge/90's dressing lately. As of late, it's the easiest go-to thing, especially when I feel like being comfortable and low-maintenance. Besides, it's pretty easy to get into--all you need is plaid, denim and loose clothing.

Maybe This Time

I rarely ever buy new clothes because I seldom find something that I reeeeeaaaaalllly like (that fits me) and can afford. Plus, it also has to pass that seven outfit test I keep mentioning--that if I can make at least 7 outfits with it, it's a worthy buy. This dress from Forever 21 is one of them. I mean, obviously, or I wouldn't have bought it. And even so, as usual, I had second (and third and fourth...) thoughts of buying it. Good thing Ayessa, my persistent voice of (un)reasonable purchases, was there to persuade me to just buy it. I usually have this really strict reward system for myself but for the first time in a long time, I actually did not have buyer's remorse. HAHA

Liberalia

Hello once more!

Can you believe it's been almost 2 weeks since my last post? If you haven't noticed, chances are you're still a student, like me. Haha! It's March madness, as I like to call it. We are down to the last couple weeks of school and there's school work we have to do left and right. Thankfully though, the stars have aligned for me tonight and I (miraculously) have nothing major to submit tomorrow. :)

Here's to (Self) Love

Happy Valentine's Day tomorrow! Here's to a "holiday" that's been the bane of my existence throughout my tumultuous, hormone-charged teen years. Here's to a day that's caused me tears (both of joy, but usually of envy and self-pity :( ) but gave me smiles and memories worth remembering too (especially during my days in UP :) ). Here's to a day I've finally come to terms with now that I'm older, "wiser" and definitely more accepting of myself.

Two Outfits, One Day

One of the reasons why I love basics so much is that I can create multiple styles from just a few pieces of clothing. With the right accessories, the possibilities are endless. This is what I kept in mind when I thought of last Wednesday's outfit. My friend told me to come up with my best look since he would be shooting Engineering students' #ootds. When he told me that last Monday, I came up with about 4 different looks but ended up settling for this one, something that wasn't among my original 4 choices. Haha! Last minute again! It's amazing cause I also ended up creating another look from the pieces I was wearing without meaning to.

Remember how in my last post I said that I wanted to feature the special people in my life in outfit posts? Here's another one. This my friend Heidi from Infinite Playlist. She was my classmate 3 out of the 4 years in high school but we only became really close in college.

It's Friday, the 21st of December, the day the Mayans predicted the world would end but here I am, on my computer blogging. I am (secretly) thrilled they are wrong because for one, I haven't finished my end of the world entry yet. Second, I still haven't done a loooot of things like go to Paris or wear a bikini yet. haha. Anyway, I'm happy too cause my vacation starts today! 
What inspired this outfit? Well, it was the last wash day of the year and Christmas was approaching so I wanted to wear a Christmas-y outfit. The top part kind of reminds me of Santa Claus (red and white).  I wore the gold skirt I wore at the WAGW event and dressed it down with a plain white tee. I wanted to do the whole maroon and gold combo but I don't have any maroon pieces yet so forgive me if the red cardigan looks too bright/clashes against the gold. Here's to trying out new things! :) What do you think?
This is what I wore when went out with my high school friends, Dex and Mithi just this Wednesday right after school. They visited me at Ateneo cause they wanted to check what my "new" life was all about. We ate at Friday's and Bigby's. As always, we took tooooooo long to order. That always happens when we're together and when I recall this little quirk of ours, I can't help but feel comforted by the familiarity of it all. I'm so glad they're back home! :)

My (Secret) Shopping Spots

While waiting for Gossip Girl to finish downloading, I thought of doing a random post of where I buy my clothes. I'm not really a fan of spending exorbitant amounts of money on clothes (if I were to spend from my own pocket, I'd spend 1500php TOPS on an article of clothing. But if it were my parents' money, well, that's another story :)) ) Anyway, my favorite shops that are available locally Forever 21, Topshop and Dorothy Perkins but the latter two can get really pricey so I don't get to buy as often. Local brands that have nice clothes that are reasonably priced (for plus-sized girls like me) are Human, Oxygen and Tomato (well for bags and shoes). For shops which haven't reached our shores yet, I LOVE H&M. I have yet to check Ever New and Cotton On, two retail chains which have recently reached Manila shores. And if you're wondering what I think of Mango and Zara, well, they are the most fashion-forward of the set.

Can you believe it's Friday? Actually, I can but to me it feels like a Sunday! It's funny that it's only now that I am losing track of days when in fact, school is already starting on Wednesday! Isn't it funny that it's during the last days of vacation do you actually start to enjoy the vacay?
