All I Need are Shades

...to look like a celebrity!

Happy Friday..and hello Sweet November!

Can you believe it's Friday? Actually, I can but to me it feels like a Sunday! It's funny that it's only now that I am losing track of days when in fact, school is already starting on Wednesday! Isn't it funny that it's during the last days of vacation do you actually start to enjoy the vacay?

Behind the Sparkle

blazer: Forever 21
skirt: H&M (gift from my friend)
shoes: SM Parisian
bag: OASAP

The difference between a great person and an average one is the extra work they put into what they do--big or small.

Have you guys read the latest Preview featuring Camille Co, Laureen Uy and Tricia Gosingtian? I just bought a copy and I thought it was amazing how Preview entrusted the cover to 3 of our country's top fashion bloggers.  I mean, it changes things for bloggers in general! Next thing I know, it might be Cheys, Lissa or Vern (or anyone) else up there.

Anyway, I read their story and realized that unlike what I thought (that they were entitled to their fame and it's easy for them to be famous and fashionable because they are rich, etc), a lot of work actually goes into the blog post (and the blog) before the entries are published. Tricia mentioned that it takes her 3 hours to edit photos and write blog entries! THREE HOURS! Me, I just post when I feel like posting and write what I feel like writing and I can do that in less than an hour. I honestly could not be bothered to resize photos like Cheys does because it's time-consuming (and mostly because I don't know how) and often, I'm just too excited to post away before all inspiration runs dry, but in reality, these things actually do matter. These can contribute to a good blog.

Trendspotting: Sportswear

7/07/2012

The June 2012 Preview saw the "Call Me Maybe" girls--Anne, Solenn, Liz, Belle and Georgina--all decked out in 2012 Balenciaga sportswear-inspired pieces. This trend is making waves now, probably because of the upcoming Olympics (opening a day after my birthday)! Vogue US also featured an amazing cover and editorial featuring their athletes and my favorite model Karlie Kloss.

Trendspotting: Neons

7/02/2012

(photos from their blogs)

With the colder season coming in, ushering the hotter season, I guess now you could say colors followed the change in weather pattern and literally went from warm to cold (from muted to loud)! But don't keep your pastels just yet, Camille Co shows that you can wear your pastels with your neons. Patricia Prieto wears a sort of muted version of a neon top. Meanwhile, I am loving Laureen Uy's unapologetically bright ensemble. If you're going neon, better go all out! I love that the way they dressed their neons reflect their personal style. Don't you think so? :)

Trendspotting: Peplum

6/02/2012

(Photos from their respective blogs)

Peplums are making a comeback (albeit slowly)!

Spotted on the runway in the recently concluded Philippine Fashion Week, this trend is a heaven-send for those with athletic figures. The overlapping skirt gives an illusion of curves. But curvy girls need not worry about this trend making them look fat. Verniece is a bit curvy but she rocks this dress from SOUL Lifestyle. The peplum trend also lends a little glam and sophisticated factor, just like in Camille and Patricia's looks. Just be sure to pair it with a structured top to balance it out. :)

PS. It's June!!!  (I didn't have an entry to welcome the first of June *sad face*)

Trendspotting: Sequined Shorts

3/20/2012

Photos from their blogs

Even though it's summer, I've been seeing tons of sequins all over the blogosphere. A twist to your usual sequined top would be wearing sequined shorts. Spotted on Camille Co, Patricia Prieto, Aisa Ipac and Mariel Wagas of Wicked Ying, its best to pair these shorts with basics because these pieces stand out so much already. Or you can go the other extreme way and pair them with printed pieces which complement them, like Camille and Patricia did.

If only I didn't have such monstrous thighs, I would be wearing this trend too!
How about you? :-)

Micro trend: YSL Arty inspired rings

1/29/2012

Almost everyone loves these rings as much as I do! I've been spotting them on almost every famous Filipino fashion blogger I follow!

Laureen Uy wears one from Extremefinds on Cape Town

Camille Co wears a real limited edition one in Tweed

Cheyser wears one from ROMWE in Sequins and Studs

Kryz Uy in one from WAGW in You can bet

See? :)

Well, good news! My online shop StyledUP is selling YSL Arty-inspired rings!
I have 1 more in red, 2 more in turquoise and 3 in black!

Bloggers' Meet and Greet

12/24/2011

A post before I get ready for our annual family Christmas party on what went down yesterday.
I was at the mall for a whopping 9 hours!
I told myself, I'd reached my Abreeza quota for the year and shouldn't come back, but I had to return today. So much for that.

I went to Abreeza to stop by for the Meet and Greet at WAGW.

Christmas Style Inspiration: Blair Waldorf

12/02/2011

It's finally Friday!!!

So, I can go about posting things other than my giveaway. Yipee! Three consecutive posts of giveaways! Have you guys joined any? :)

Also, it's finally December! Can you feel the coldness in the air already?
I do. I've had a bit of a cold lately, which led me to miss a couple of days in school.

So anyway, on to the post!

Blair Waldorf has just grown so much as a character, and as well as in her fashion choices, hasn't she? Her look now is a far cry from the preppy queen bee who popularized the hairbands which came to even be known as the "Blair band". As in my Serena style inspiration post, inspirations for holiday wear came from last season, during their quick jaunt to Paris. (I can def say Paris really is advanced when it comes to fashion!)

Look # 1: Red

What says holidays more than red? This gorgeous red Oscar dela Renta dress is love! And hello, those shoes would make Carrie Bradshaw drool!

Trend Spotting: Sheer

11/05/2011

I noticed the sheer trend making its rounds on the blogosphere. From tops to skirts and cover-ups, no doubt we'll be seeing more of this trend.

Camille Co and Cheyser Pedregosa show us their take on the trend by wearing tops by SummerSault. Camille keeps her look polished by tucking her top into a pair of tan pants of while Cheyser keeps up with her whole effortless and relaxed vibe by pairing her top with a long necklace, skirt and boots.

Vern Enciso shows us that sheer need not be only limited to tops and skirts. She uses the sheer blazer to tone down her fringe top and tassel necklace.

Laureen Uy and Pauline Prieto love their sheer skirts! Laureen takes her skirt to fashion week, glamming it up with an animal printed top, a chunky necklace and Charlotte Olympia wedges. Pauline, also spotted at fashion week dresses down her skirt Coachella-inspired, showing us that effortlessly stylish model off-duty look we love.

Most important thing to keep in mind while wearing this trend is to wear the right undergarments.
So, how are you wearing this trend?

Trend Spotting: Feathered Earrings

8/11/2011

Having been online a lot lately, I noticed how a lot of Philippine bloggers have been wearing these feathered earrings. I've seen them on

Ava Te

Aisa Ipac,

Tin Iglesias,

Patricia Prieto,

Camille Co

and Laureen Uy.

I like that it gives a pop of color and an added touch of quirkiness. I think they would also go well with the maxi skirt trend in completing that gypsy look. Notice how they each only wore one earring? The earring is long so wearing a pair would overwhelm.

Some stores you can get feathered earrings from are MARiS and CROW.
*BTW, I don't own the pictures. Got them from the MARiS page, and their respective blogs.
