FIDA Gradshow 2014: Spliced

A couple of Saturdays ago, the Fashion Institute of Design and Arts (FIDA), Davao's first (and only) fashion school, held its graduation show at the SM Lanang Premier atrium for its second batch of graduates. From 5 graduates of the previous year, there were 13 graduates this year that showcased their creations. There were 8 graduates from the 1-year Fashion Design course who showcased a 7-piece collection each, and 4 graduates from the 2-year design course who showcased a 12-piece collection each. SPLICED: FIDA Gradshow Presscon

Last Wednesday, I was invited to the Fashion Institute of Design and Arts (FIDA) presscon for their second graduation show entitled SPLICED: Where Fashion and Film Collide. It will be held at 5pm tomorrow, April 26, 2014 at the SM Lanang Premier Atrium and everyone's invited to attend! The show will feature the works of the 13 graduates of FIDA Davao. The graduates of the 1-year (intensive) Fashion Design course will feature a 7-piece collection. Meanwhile, the graduates of the 2-year Fashion Design course will feature a 12-piece collection. The lone Fashion Branding and Merchandising student, Daphne Balagtas, will be styling a set featuring clothes from Forever 21.

Comfort Zone

I think it was last week that my friend Allan tweeted "Life begins at the end of your comfort zone" and I swear, that quote couldn't have come at a more opportune time. It's not only applicable to my friends who have just recently graduated or to those who'll be starting their new jobs, but also to me, a perpetual dweller of the comfort zone.

FIDA Grad Show: Inclinations

Last Sunday, I had the privilege of attending FIDA's first graduation fashion show at SM Lanang Premier. My friends Kyrie Banos and Wilson Limon were among those who showcased their collection.

FIDA Basic Make-up Workshop

Last May 12-14 (I know, it's been about 3 months! Haha. But I didn't have this blog then), I took the Basic Makeup Workshop under Archie Tolentino, Chief Makeup Artist of Maybelline Philippines (He replaced Barbi Chan when she got married). It was from 9 am-4pm, and held at the Fashion Institute of Design and Arts, a fashion school here in Davao. I took the class because I wanted to learn how to apply (as my classmates in makeup class put it) LEGIT makeup.
