PFW Holiday 2012: SM Ladies Fashion

5/24/2012

For some weird reason, sometimes I enjoy watching brand shows versus designer shows because I think I am more in tune with trend forecasting as well as I'm more exposed to commercial styling than editorial styling.

Anyway, this show is for SM Ladies wear. SM has always been a leader in providing fashion-forward and trendy off-the-runway styles at lower price points. I love SM cause they literally have got it all for you (and they have trendy plus sized clothing so we aren't left behind). Anyway, here are some of the trends I spotted at the SM show:

Pretty Pastels

Sheer fabrics in sorbet colors, chiffon, mullet skirts give off that breezy yet girly vibe.

Florals

Paired with both brights and pastels, florals are still a staple in every girl's closet.

Resort Wear

I love these long skirts (maxi, midi and mullet) in wild prints. Check out the chili, cucumber (or green eggplants?) and plum (or are those purple strawberries?) prints!

Brights

When wearing a bold color, it's best to keep the garment simple and let the color stand out.

Mixed Prints/Scarf Prints

Scarf prints in shocking colors such as orange and magenta are still huge!

Workwear

Work wear does not have to be boring and stiff! Mix it up with sheer and breezy fabrics, perfect for our hot climate. Posted tons of pics for this segment cause I love the classic look.

Workwear (fun)

Color blocking and tribal prints can take you to school or can be a fun alternative to corporate wear.

All that Glitters

Love this collection of black, sequins, lace and nude. Black and nude are such a posh combination!!

So, what collection was your favorite? :)
